# Attribution and source notes

CARGO/19 CSS is an independent, unofficial design study.

## Visual references

The project was informed by:

- Boris (Baris) Tovmasyan, “Semiotic Standard” on Behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/78297841/Semiotic-Standard
- Ron Cobb's historical Semiotic Standard concepts as discussed and redrawn in that study;
- Richard Greenberg's discussion of the *Alien* title sequence: https://www.artofthetitle.com/title/alien/
- Dave Addey's analysis of typography and interface graphics in *Alien*: https://typesetinthefuture.com/2014/12/01/alien/

The framework applies abstract system principles: a `19 × 18` construction grid, framed equipment modules, white separation outlines on dark or colored surfaces, operational color semantics, interrupted heavy display typography, condensed labels, and monospaced technical data.

All SVG geometry distributed here was drawn for this package and generated by `tools/build_icons.rb`. It is not a trace or redistribution of the Behance presentation or film production art.

No film stills, title artwork, logos, character names, spacecraft names, studio marks, or proprietary font files are included.

## Font references

The default online build references these open-source families:

- Space Grotesk — SIL Open Font License 1.1
- Rajdhani — SIL Open Font License 1.1
- IBM Plex Mono — SIL Open Font License 1.1

Font binaries are not redistributed. See `FONT-SOURCES.md` for official sources and implementation notes.

## Trademarks

*Alien* and related marks belong to their respective owners. Their mention is descriptive of the historical design reference and does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.
